A redneck’s wet dream: punching up at NASCAR

Sinking watery beer, watching cars go ‘round and ‘round in circles, and praying for a good ol’ punch up is, as the title suggests, a rednecks wet dream. So when a post-race brawl between drivers Kyle Busch and Joey Logano kicked off at Nascar’s Las Vegas Motor Speedway event, March 12, it’s not surprising the footage  quickly did the rounds.

Nascar have now confirmed they will review TV and video footage of the fight after the conclusion of the race, where Busch walked briskly down pit road to where Logano had parked his No. 22 Team Penske Ford and threw a right punch that appeared to connect.

The two drivers got tangled together as Logano’s pit crew also got in on the action to chuck their own hits into Busch — with what appears to be one of Logano’s pit crew members kicking another accidentally.

Busch was then escorted away by a big boy race official sporting a decent cut to the forehead. Neither driver nor their teams were called to the Nascar hauler after the race, but Logano’s crew chief, Todd Gordon, and Travis Geisler, Penske’s Nascar competition director, both requested a meeting with Nascar officials after the race.
