Daily Driven: Troy’s JZX100

We don’t only feature fully modified vehicles in NZ Performance Car magazine — the mildly modified daily drivers get a look in too! It doesn’t matter what it is, if you’re passionate about it, modify it, and drive it to work every day we’ll showcase it.

NZPC: Hey Troy, that is one super-clean JZX. How long have you owned it for?

Troy:  Thanks guys, I have owned it for two years now and couldn’t be happier. Definitely the best decision I’ve made!

NZPC: What originally made you get into the JZX chassis?

Troy: It was Daigo Saito who was my original inspiration. The way he drifts this big chassis with such style and speed, he sure makes the JZX stand out from the crowd.

NZPC: What were the key areas you wanted to address when building this car and how have you achieved them?

Troy: I haven’t really done too much to it — I just wanted it to look clean, simple and like something that had come out of Japan.

NZPC: How do you best enjoy the Toyota?

Troy: I get joy out of driving the Chaser every day to work. A lot of people will stop and ask me questions about it as they are so rare in New Zealand. It’s great to be able to be different, but still in a way blend in.

NZPC: Do you have any future plans for the engine?

Troy: Possibly some Tomei products to help move things along, but I’m still deciding as what to do to and what works best for a daily driven car.

NZPC: Thanks a lot for chatting to us Troy, we can’t wait to see what you come up with next.
