Spoon Sports have spread their wings recently, by sending their highly modified Honda Civic FD2 Type R to America to contest Global Time Attack’s Unlimited Front-Wheel Drive class, piloted by the one and only Daijiro Yoshihara.
The K20A turbocharged FD2 produces around 420hp, which was more than enough to take out the class record over the weekend of November 14–15 at Buttonwillow Raceway Park, with a time of 1:45.585. This is a great win for Spoon Sports, as they continue to show their global dominance in the front-wheel motorsport scene.
We’ll be keeping an eye on the international time attack scene in coming months, so keep your eyes peeled. To take a closer look at the Civic, check out this epic in-car clip by stickydiljoe.com.
