From karts to motocross, sidecar swinging to TQ racing, 22-year-old Sam Neil from Napier has recently stepped up in speedway to this monster 410ci Haigh-powered sprint car.
Contracted to Mount Maunganui and sponsored by Til Freight and Curren Engineering, Sam has only raced in four meetings in the car so far — and in that particular race, as he was on his way to taking out first place, it turned out the commentator didn’t even know who he was and had to do a bit of Facebook searching to find out who Neil was.
Clearly he’s already proven he has what it takes to get to the top, so we reckon you should keep an eye on this guy to see where he gets to in the future — he’s got his eye on Western Springs.
