Emma Gilmour swaps rally for jetsprint

12 January 2015

Emma Gilmour is widely recognized as not just one of New Zealand’s finest female rally drivers, but she’s also one of top in the world. Over the weekend of January 24–25, 2015, she will be forgoing her usual Suzuki Swift in favour of something a bit more formidable — a methanol-fuelled V8 jetsprint boat capable of reaching 100kph in under two seconds!

With that much power on tap, coupled with a technical and very watery circuit, absolute all-out action is guaranteed. Over 15,000 people attended last year’s Enzed V8 Jetsprints at Tauranga’s ASB Baypark Stadium, and event organizers are expecting over 17,500 this year — Juliet Henderson, Maire Austin, Ben Marshall, Troy Andreassen, Mandy Symonds, and Sean Thomas will be amongst those going, having won tickets to the weekend, provided by Jetsprint BOP Inc, through our recent competition on The Motorhood.

If you’re keen to check it out, you can purchase tickets online here and save $10 on the gate price.
