More news has come out from the team at Red Bull Drift Shifters with the announcement of the course layout. ‘Mad Mike’ Whiddett’s creation is coming to life in the map below.
The whole event takes place down on the Britomart end of Quay Street in Auckland. Take careful note of the placement of things and the landmarks that go with them. There are going to be a few awesome spots to view from and it will pay to do some research to locate that prime spot!
The returning Achilles Radial truck is positioned in the middle of the course with the competitors sliding underneath the truck — the same set-up that took out Fanga Dan’s roof after a close call last year! The GoPro wall ride makes for a great viewing section and really pushes the skills of the drivers to see how close they can get to the wall.
This event is shaping up to be the highlight of the summer calendar. Make sure you’re there!
