The Masterton Motorplex has added what is sure to be a great import event to their summer calendar. Import Insanity takes place on December 6 and 7 and has the biggest prize pool on offer at any drag event this summer.
MMP board member Ben Moorcock says it marks the return for an import-only event to Masterton Motorplex: “After a few years’ absence of an import-only event at Masterton Motorplex I’m stoked we’re able to the give the import fraternity their own drag day at a lower North Island track again.
With our awesome new dragstrip at their disposal we welcome any and all imports to come and have a blast of a day with like-minded racers in a friendly and helpful environment.”
The team are offering up a massive $5000 prize pool split between the classes, including $2000 for the winner in sport compact, which is sure to draw a good field. But the day is not just for the pros as Ben explains: “If you own a modified import and have always wondered what it would really do down the quarter mile then this day is your perfect chance for bragging rights and your own time slip, there’s a class for everybody. In the past we were getting over 80 imports race at our import-only days and getting back to these levels will secure Import Insanity on the Masterton Motorplex calendar for years to come.”
